Frequently asked questions

How do I play?

Each day you’re given a start word and a goal word. Build a chain of real compound words from the start to the goal, where the end of one word is the start of the next (for example: COWBOY → BOYFRIEND → FRIENDSHIP → SHIPYARD). Your time is your score.

Do I need to sign in?

No — you can play every day as a guest. You only need to sign in with Apple if you want your score to count on the global leaderboard.

How do I post to the leaderboard?

After you solve the daily puzzle, tap Add to Leaderboard. Because guest scores can’t be ranked, you’ll be asked to sign in with Apple the first time. Your real name (if you share it) becomes your display name, which you can change anytime in Settings.

Can I replay a past puzzle?

Today’s puzzle can be played once. You can browse the Previous 7 Days from the main menu to see each recent puzzle and a recommended solution.

How do I turn off the daily reminder?

The reminder is a local notification. You can disable it in your device’s Settings → Notifications → Chainmaker.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or email us at info@e115industries.com and we’ll remove your data.
